Police kill 3 robbers


ABEOKUTA — Ogun State Police Command, yesterday, said that it had killed three robbers during a gun duel with a gang of armed robbers, who were robbing road users on Ijebu-Ode/ Benin expressway.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, who disclosed this to newsmen in Abeokuta, said that the policemen attached to Ogbere Division, led by Alimi Akanbi, confronted the robbers at 1. 30p.m.
Adejobi said: “The patrol team was on patrol of the expressway as usual when they encountered the robbers attacking road users at Alafia junction near J3.
“The police team engaged them in fierce gun battle. Two of the robbers fell, while others escaped. One of them was arrested with bullet wounds but died on the way to hospital.
“He named other members of the gang before he died.

AMAECHI WILL BE TREATED LIKE A TRAITOR -DOKUBO-ASARI

Leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujaheed Dokubo-Asari, has described Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as a traitor. According to him, since the governor joined forces with the North to work against President Goodluck Jonathan, he has betrayed the people of the Niger Delta. Dokubo-Asari, who spoke with journalists on Friday in Abuja, on Jonathan-Amaechi rift among other issues, said the 2015 general elections would “define and decide” the existence of Nigeria.
