Auditions to select aspiring singers for the next stage of the X Factor competition have ended, with a total of 135 people selected from Abuja, Port Harcourt, Lagos, Kumasi and Accra. After only a week in the House, Huddah and Denzel have been sent packing! Koketso, LK4, Feza, Dillish and Hakeem are up for Eviction this Sunday. The quirky Ugandan Denzel and sexy Huddah from Kenya, became the first two Housemates to be Evicted from the game. The pretty Kenyan had emerged as a rather strong personality, as evidenced by her candid Diary Sessions, where she held no prisoners. Denzel and Huddah Denzel on the other hand, proved to be a colourful character who entertained his fellow Housemates and viewers alike with his zany antics. This evening’s Evictions proved to be rather taxing emotionally, not only for Huddah and Denzel, but also for Ruby Head of House Beverly and Diamonds Head of House, Feza. Competent government sources confirmed to  Vanguard , yesterday, that Governor Al-Makura was interested in a second term although he had served notice in 2011 to do just four years and hand over to an Eggon politician, since the area has never tasted the governorship seat in the 16 years of the state’s existence. According to findings, Eggon, which are mostly Christians and constitute the dominant ethnic race in the state, are found in all the LGAs of Nasarawa State but they feel politically marginalised by successive administrations.

Michael Adebolajo, 28, had a bandaged left hand and was holding a Koran as he appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London to be formally charged with murdering soldier Lee Rigby on May 22. He and the other suspect, Michael Adebowale, 22, were shot by police during their arrest at the scene of the brutal daylight attack near the army barracks where Rigby was based in Woolwich, southeast London. Abuja – Mr Mohammed Abubakar, the Inspector-General of Police, said on Monday that the report of investigation into the killing of 49 policemen in Nasarawa State would be made public at the appropriate time. Abubakar gave the assurance in Abuja in an interview with newsmen shortly after the inauguration of 12 patrol vehicles for the Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
